My dog was rescued

Gary had just approached a pond in Park City, Utah, he heard an unknown voice as someone is crying for help. It was the month of January on Saturday and about 5 yards away from from the frozen banks. Looking carefully, it was the cry of brownish dog that was struggling to cling to a thin layer of ice. How it got there god knows, but Gary was determined to save the dog. He entered the pond in a rowboat and was chopping ice with the thick wooden stick to make the way for it. The lower part of the dog was under the frigid water and upper part was on the ice. With his heart thumping, he moved slowly along the surface while maintaining continuous contact with it. He stripped down to inner wear and socks. He crashed into 15 feet of frigid water.

He surfaced again and again to see the dog going under. He swam about seven feet towards it, grabbed hold of its collar and pulled it to the ice surface. And then he patted the dog, got it into the boat. He returned to the shore where the anxious crowd was waiting for the dog. They carried the dog to row boat owner who was a retired veterinary doctor.

Gary and the dog jumped into warm shower till both were defrosted.

“Had it been there, it would have suffered cardiac arrest. You rescued my dog. Thank you very much.” the dog owner said.

Gary left for his home.

Next day, Gary came back to see the dog again. The dog leapt on him and wet the man’s face by licking with its tongue.
